Daniel Zeitler
Daniel M. Zeitler is a board-certified Otologist/Neurotologist & Skull Base Surgeon at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA. He is the Co-Director of the Listen for Life Cochlear Implant Center at Virginia Mason and Clinical Assistant Professor in the University of Washington Department of Otolaryngology. Dr. Zeitler graduated magna cum laude from Northwestern University and earned his MD with honors from New York University. He completed his General Surgery internship and residency in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at New York University and his Otology/Neurotology & Skull Base Surgery fellowship at the University of Miami Ear Institute. Dr. Zeitler is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American Academy of Otolaryngology, the Triological Society, and the American Neurotology Society.
Dr. Zeitler also serves on the Board of Directors for the American Cochlear Implant Alliance. He is the founding member of the Seattle branch of the HearAid Foundation and has participated in multiple surgical missions to Eastern Africa to perform surgeries and train local physicians. As a researcher, Dr. Zeitler is the Medical Director of Research in the Department of Otolaryngology. He has authored over 50 peer-reviewed manuscripts and multiple book chapters. He has been principal investigator on multiple FDA clinical trials related to expanding criteria for cochlear implantation and remains active with his clinical research in the fields of cochlear implantation for single-sided deafness, vestibular schwannoma surgery quality improvement, and the use of machine learning in predicting surgical outcomes.
Dr. Zeitler joined Listen and Talk’s Board in 2015. His love and passion for treating children with hearing loss through cochlear implantation and other hearing rehabilitation options ensures no child will be limited by hearing loss.
