Listen and Talk Celebrates Lives Without Limits

Landon Nolfi-Browne has always navigated life with self-determination and a focus on possibilities. He attended Listen and Talk in the early days, 10 years after the opening of the organization. He received services from Star and Maura, in particular, and has fond memories of his experiences at that time. In Landon’s parents’ words “When I watch Landon, I see someone who perseveres and tries to make the world a better place. I don’t know how that would be possible if Maura hadn’t showed up in our living room that day, or if Star hadn’t been there for Landon in the beginning. They illuminated the path for Landon to live life without limits.”
Exploring New Frontiers
Seeking a challenge beyond his local school, he began taking community college classes as a 6th grader, ultimately leaving junior high to complete several semesters and become a tutor there. Post-COVID, Landon explored school options and motivated to continue his studies. He pursued and attended the University of Edinburgh at age 17, where his history papers earned publication-level praise. After Edinburgh, Landon was accepted as a transfer student at UCLA. A professor offered Landon an advisership, and after several quarters of straight A’s, nominated Landon to represent UCLA as an inaugural member of the Undergraduate Advisory Council at the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History.
UCLA Adventures
Landon has returned to the States, and as a UCLA transfer student with straight A’s, he has been nominated for departmental honors and many other recognitions as he completes his History degree. Passionate about public service, Landon recently received a standing ovation for his public policy work with San Francisco Board of Supervisors member, Myra Melgar. His perseverance and brilliant mind prove that success comes from boldly forging your own path.
Currently, Landon’s honors thesis at UCLA has been nominated for departmental honors. For him, it seems living a life without limits is about the ability to keep going, to keep forging a path, even when the outcomes are not what you thought they would be…sometimes they might even be better, if you keep going.
Congratulations, Landon, on receiving the Life Without Limits Award! Your Listen and Talk family is so proud of you and all of your accomplishments! Keep up the good work. We are rooting for you all the way!
