Deb Masters
Deb’s involvement with Listen and Talk began back in 1999, when her son Joshua was diagnosed with hearing loss. Her family jumped in head first, becoming involved in any and all programs at Listen and Talk that offered help, support and friendships to be made. Joshua has bilateral cochlear implants and is currently at Gonzaga University, majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Entrepreneurial leadership. Deb’s family firmly believes that Joshua’s success is largely due in part to the foundation set from Listen and Talk all those years ago.
Deb majored in Interior Design but has had the honor of being an at home mom to her 3 boys. In her spare time, she manages their oceanside vacation rental, is a parent advocate for WA State Hands and Voices, Guide by Your side (a program that offers support to newly diagnosed families with hearing loss), and occasionally even works as a substitute in the Listen and Talk preschool classrooms.
Being involved with the board since 2010, Deb is a fierce advocate for the relationships between the board, the staff and the families being served. Deb is forever grateful for the role that Listen and Talk has played in her life, and is always looking for more ways to give back to both the school and families needing support.
