Events that combine celebration, giving, and community hold a special place in our hearts.
Delta Zeta of Greater Seattle’s recent Lamplighter Gala event was a shining testament to its dedication to serving the community. With Listen and Talk chosen as the beneficiary of this year’s event, guests knew that their presence was more than a social gathering; it was a statement of solidarity with the community and a commitment to fostering a brighter future for deaf and hard-of-hearing children.
Katharine Wile, a Listen and Talk alum and the 2024 Adult Life Without Limits Award Recipient, joined Listen and Talk Executive Director Maura Berndsen for the program. Katharine’s personal story spoke volumes, bringing to life Listen and Talk’s mission, impact and the invaluable support our programs provide for families with deaf or hard of hearing children. “I feel like I understand what Listen and Talk is all about,” commented a guest, which highlights the deep connection we forge through personal experience and shared compassion.
