David Sanders
David Sanders is a Listen and Talk Board of Trustees member who is also on the Finance Committee. He is the father of a Listen & Talk alumnus. Aren, his son, joined the Birth to Three program after being diagnosed with severe-to-profound bilateral hearing loss and receiving bilateral cochlear implants. David and his wife, Elexa, chose to give Aren access to hearing and wanted him to have the opportunity to learn through listening and spoken language. They chose Listen & Talk because of the program’s family-centered, collaborative approach and extensive experience in teaching deaf and hard of hearing kids for over 20 years. After Aren completed preschool at Listen & Talk he transitioned to a mainstream public school where he continues to learn and thrive in a standard hearing setting. David and Elexa attribute his success and their ability to advocate for their son to Listen & Talk and the amazing faculty and staff who have cared so much for Aren and their family.
David is a Group Manager of Portfolio Management and Analytics at Starbucks. He has over 15 years of experience in Banking and Corporate Finance industries and has held leadership positions in valuation consulting, finance, and data analytics roles. David attended the Foster School of Business where he earned his Masters degree in Business Administration and the University of Hawaii where he earned a bachelors in Finance. When not at work and school you’ll find the Sanders family in the mountains or by the water enjoying the outdoors as much as possible.
David joined Listen & Talk’s Board in 2021 to give back to the organization that has given so much to his family. He is determined to leverage his personal and professional experience to ensure the organization remains fiscally strong so it carry out its mission and ensure no child is limited by hearing loss.
