Jennifer Swaim
Jennifer Swaim currently serves as the Governance Committee Chair for the Board of Trustees at Listen and Talk. Jennifer and her family were introduced to Listen and Talk when their daughter Karsen was diagnosed with moderate to moderately severe hearing loss at 18 months. After receiving her first hearing aids, Karsen received both Birth to 3 at home services and attended preschool at Listen and Talk. Jennifer and her husband Myron feel the combination of specialized education services, audiology, therapy and parent support were key in setting Karsen up for success and transition into elementary school. “Karsen is a thriving, creative, confident student and athlete and we’re parents equally equipped to support, advocate and encourage thanks to the Listen & Talk Team” states Swaim.
In addition to running her own small business, Jennifer is a fitness and Rock Steady Boxing coach at Parkinson’s Wellness Place and Early Bird Coaching in Snohomish, WA. Previously, she held the role of Vice President of Global Health, Safety and Environment for Terex Corporation, a manufacturer of industrial machinery. For 12 years she led the company’s worldwide efforts towards safety excellence. She holds a Bachelors of Science from the University of Washington in Environmental Health and is also a member of the Safety and Quality Committee of the Seattle Children’s Hospital Board of Trustees. As a member of the board for Listen and Talk, Jennifer is honored to use her skills to help this organization reach more children and support more families so that no child is limited by hearing loss.
Jennifer, her husband Myron, son Case and Karsen reside in Snohomish County and enjoy all things related to sunshine.
