Preschool Enrolling Peers With Hearing!
We are enrolling children with hearing in our Blended Classroom Program for the 2023-2024 school year. Our preschool classrooms provide a language-rich environment where children who are deaf/hard of hearing and children with hearing learn and play together. Our highly qualified educators work closely with each child to help them reach important developmental milestones. All children benefit from our small class sizes and conversational approach!
Our preschool is conveniently located off of exit 85th in Kirkland, Washington. Our new facility features cozy classrooms, a spacious discovery room for indoor play and exploration, and a library.
Our Approach
Listen and Talk’s programs support children with hearing loss in the development of listening and spoken language skills. Instead of sign language, our educators use specific auditory strategies to support the development of listening and spoken language skills.
Our curriculum uses a child-centered active learning approach to support children in all areas of development, with a special emphasis on the following:
- Listening and spoken language skills
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Social skills
- Self-advocacy skills
- Literacy skills

The benefits of attending Listen and Talk’s Blended Classroom program
All children, with and without hearing loss, benefit from the small preschool class size and individualized attention they receive from our highly trained educators. Through our child-centered curriculum and active learning approach, all children develop strong Kindergarten readiness skills.
In addition, children with typical hearing and development develop a positive attitude and appreciation for children with differences, which are increasingly important attributes in our diverse society.
