Speech-Language Pathologist
Summary: In partnership with dedicated families and a dynamic team, provide listening and spoken language therapy services for children who are deaf or hard of hearing. Guide and coach families to facilitate the development of listening, language,speech, cognitive, social and self-advocacy skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- Provide Listening and Spoken Language Therapy, guided by the Principles of Auditory-Verbal Therapy, to children with hearing loss, and their families.
- Plan and implement weekly lesson plans and create necessary materials.
- Conduct weekly data collection and analysis.
- Maintain records and documentation of student progress,including data collection, language samples and CASLLS documentation.
- Administer/score/interpret standardized assessments.
- Write annual reports to share with families, school districts and other designated partners.
- Develop, implement and maintain IEPs/treatment plans.
- Oversee student observations, practicum experiences,internships and clinical fellows as assigned.
- Collaborate with professionals on the students’ team,including but not limited to, teachers of the deaf, on-site and clinical audiologists, and partners from other agencies for the purpose of supporting each child’s progress.
- Participate in weekly SLP team meetings and regularly scheduled meetings with the on-site team.
- Maintain professional certification (ASHA, WA State Dept. of Health, AG Bell if LSLS certified).
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Education/Experience: Master’s degree (M.A./M.S.)or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates and Licenses: CCC-SLP, Washington State Department of Health Speech-Language Pathologist License, LSLS Cert. AVT (strongly recommended),Washington State Educational Staff Associate (ESA) Certification. Current CPR and First Aid Certification, Bloodborne Pathogens Training.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures,or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports,correspondence, and procedure documents.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from colleagues, families, and the general public.
