Employee Spotlight: Nichelle Brown
Where are you from?
Seattle, WA
Why did you decide to work for Listen and Talk?
I vowed to always work with families! After serving at-risk families between Washington, Virginia and Pennsylvania, as a Social Worker I knew to be at the table of supporting families through building programming and leadership was where the need truly is! Preparing and teaching professionals on how to advocate, build relationships, and be gatekeepers to unlocking the complexity of services for their families is the goal and mission that I will always have!
What do you love most about your work?
I love that I can have the freedom to build creative programming with my amazing, highly educated staff for our families. We are not a one-dimensional group! There are so many great talents that are the very reason why our families love our programs! Also, I love to see when a provider feels that they have finally “connected” with the family!
Are there any innovations, accomplishments you want that you want us to highlight about you?
While I am consistently building in Birth to Three, and others may say different, my biggest accomplishment is hiring amazing providers and maintaining a fruitful program! They honestly make me look good!
What do you like to do for fun?
I love to play football in the backyard with my boys! They love the game! Anytime with them really!
If you could be any animal in the world, what would you be and why?
A lion: while they are ferociousness, lions are family animals and truly social in their own communities.
